Re: Jordan’s Principle Services Delivery Update
The Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Jordan’s Principle program has continued to see a high demand in
health and social services and products to support our children’s health and wellbeing. The
Canadian government is however yet to provide all the funds we require to continue meeting this
demand for our ON and OFF-reserve families.
As of December 4th, 2024, we received instruction from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), to
redirect all requests in excess of our funding to the regional ISC general call centre. Our staff
is implementing this request forthwith and will continue to act in the best interest of our
children.
Staff will continue advocating, supporting and helping our families in navigating the systems
involved so you can access the services and products you need. Clients and families are urged to
continue following the services and products request processes in place and reach out to staff with
any questions.
Our staff will continue to provide (within limited funds) essentials items including medical
services and equipment, food security, infant and child essentials such as formula, diapers, wipes,
clothing, respite services and infant/child gear on a case-by-case basis.
We will strive to fulfil pre-approved requests within available funding limits.
