Join us for this 3-day in-service basic training. It certifies workers to utilize the ‘Wewepison (Swing) Therapy within their own agency. The session will be led by Dr. Darlene Auger, Cree from Wabasca, Alberta, a specialist on the Wewepison Therapeutic Practice.
Dr. Auger coined Wewepison Therapy in 2002 after she received a spiritual vision during a ceremony in 2001. Over the last 18 years, she has received numerous teachings from Elders and knowledge keepers of the Indigenous baby swing. She has done extensive research on the healing benefits for adults and children and she has travelled all over the world sharing this ancient knowledge. Swing therapy provides healing and Dr. Auger works to ensure this practice is more accessible to everyone, everywhere. As part of the training there will be ceremonial activities.
For women please wear a dress during the training, a sweatlodge ceremony will be part of the training.
Please come prepared with sweat gear:
- women: skirt, shirt or dress towel
- men: towel & shorts; your own tobacco and prints.
