Location: Nelson House, Manitoba

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Jordan’s Principle Case Manager Coordinator, the Caretaker is responsible to perform a variety of duties related to the health, safety and sanitary conditions of the Jordan’s Principle Office 3 times a week.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

  • Cleaning of the designated area of the building in order to ensure that it is maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner
  • Sweep and mop floors; scrub and wax hallways
  • Empty trash cans, recycling bins and other waste containers
  • Wash and disinfect washroom floors, toilet seats and fixtures
  • Spot clean walls and toilet partitions; clean all mirrors
  • Operate vacuum cleaners where required
  • Dust furniture and fixtures as required
  • Wash windows and interior walls
  • Replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed
  • Clean entrances and exits including floors
  • Requests supplies in a timely manner to ensure adequate levels are maintained at all times
  • Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff, faculty and the public
  • Demonstrates experience in custodial duties
  • Knowledge in standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
  • Experience with or willingness to learn to use some custodial machinery (floor scrubber)
  • Should exhibit an interest in updating her knowledge of custodial areas
  • Other duties as

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • CPR and First Aide Certificate
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have a high level of personal integrity and professional initiative
  • Ability to speak an Aboriginal language would be an asset
  • A valid Manitoba Driver’s license would be an asset
  • A criminal records check and Child Abuse Registry check are requirements of all FCWC employment positions

Annual Salary:   $38,822
