Position Title: Jordan’s Principle – Receptionist

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

Summary:

This position reports to the Team Leader and is responsible for providing services to CFS clients who need Child and Family Services. The Case Manager also completes the assessments, crisis intervention, supportive counselling, and development of service plans, assists with basic needs, advocacy, and referral services.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

  • Answer and redirect general inquires in person, by telephone or email
  • Take and forward messages using multi-line telephone
  • Distribute incoming mail and faxes
  • Process letters, memorandums, reports papers, minutes of meetings and workshop material
  • Tabulating and maintaining accurate and up to day statistics for the department using Excel and Access
  • Coordinating all aspects of the department workshops, g. work closely with group coordinators
  • Order and replenish departmental supplies, career inventories, technical equipment, pamphlets,
  • Use and understand various computer programs and office equipment
  • Review and document file search process
  • Create files and file documents
  • Maintain and organize our file storage room
  • Retrieve and track all files removed from the filing room, and ensure the return of the same
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma plus a minimum of 1 year experience as a receptionist
  • Other combinations of equivalent education and experiences with be considered
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good technical/computer skills
  • Accurate typing skills of at least 40 wpm
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse workplace is critical
  • Knowledge of Jordan’s Principle Program or ability to acquire within 6 months
  • Knowledge of First Nation Culture or the ability to acquire within 6 months
  • Ability to set priorities and work in a team setting
  • Ability to remain positive and enthusiastic under stressful conditions
  • Ability to speak an aboriginal language would be an asset
  • A criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry is a requirement of all FCWC positions

Annual Salary:                                    $38,822
